“I have to admit that I waited far too long to begin making my own wedding dress. I get to work with so many beautiful dresses and there are many elements I considered incorporating. I was a bit overwhelmed. I always suggest that even if a bride knows that she wants a custom dress that she try on different silhouettes. Time and time again I hear from my clients that they were surprised by what they ended up choosing. I followed my own advice and like so many, chose design elements that were different than anything I ever wear. Plunging neckline and sparkles are not me but for this one day- they were. I loved the sleeve trend I was starting to see and I fell in love with a beaded fabric that looked frosted -which was perfect for a December wedding. Each applique was especially placed to create the bodice on this gown and the velvet ribbon was the perfect finish that was meant to tie in with my velvet clad bridesmaids. But the best part was feeling beautiful and comfortable on that special day.”
