Gown: Grandmother’s and then Mother’s
Redesign and Alterations: S. Rothan

Francesca and I redesigned a very special gown that had been worn by both her grandmother and her mother. She wanted it to pay homage to the original while updating it to be more modern. We removed the high neckline and saved the neck lace for the waist. We put in nude illusion mesh to hold the structure of the dress and made the sleeves off the shoulder. We removed the peplum lace and used the scallop to integrate into the sleeves. While the dress had been cleaned the buttons were very dark and dingey so we replaced them with clean ivory lace covered buttons.

We took the headpiece off the veil and removed the blusher so she had a clean, single tier veil.
